Technical Writing ? What does a Technical Author?

It is a question that people ask many times as you start out as a technical writer? There is a specific qualification, educational or professional background you need? How do you get a break, leading the field? The bad news is that there is no standard answer is the good news is that there are some answers that may help in some way.

Professional experience

I became a technical writer by accident, actually I do not know the termexisted until two or three years of work as one. I worked as a coach of a major mobile phone companies, and it seemed (to me and only at the time) it would be appropriate to document the processes, strategies and systems. This was to be both for reasons of consistency and for newcomers to be able to get around.

True ? For me, a technical writer from all professional backgrounds, experiences, where you'll learn how to get things document. But none of it took me a technical writer, I was one ? but it has a special training to improve my skills and allow me to tackle larger projects in a more organized (which is very useful when it is time-critical projects and the business world today ? all projects are time critical).

You do not need special training in technical writer, a logical approach, a clear writing style and ability to bereceptive to feedback. However, there are vocational qualifications, and if you want to enter the field, could do worse than what the research is relevant to the area and take it over.

The big news is that those who want to do the technical writer may be, there is no clear path to becoming one either. If you can be successful in this area.
