Pet Adoption/ Pet Rescue and Select Pet Products / Pet Services ...

An article that appeared in the Huffingon Post just a few days ago, caught our eye and our hearts. It seems that about 900 pets, some of whom have cuts, infections and broken bones, remain orphaned after the deadly tornado that struck Joplin on May 22, and are being cared for at the Joplin Humane Society. Although this is three times their usual "inventory", the Joplin Humane Society is "determined to find a home for every cat and dog." And to bolster this effort, it plans to hold an Adopt-a-thon" the weekend of June 25-26, and the pets will be given free to good homes after being spayed and neutered. Read the full piece here:?www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/17/joplin-tornado-pets-homeless-animals_n_878914.html

We applaud the heroes that are working night and day to help these animals, not only to physically heal, but to connect them with either the original owners, or to find new forever homes. According to this piece, "More than 100 volunteers from across the country, many from other shelters, are in Joplin helping out-cleaning cages, providing veterinary care and exercising the animals." I'm sure that the Joplin Humane Society could use any donations you could spare, so please take a minute and visit their site:?www.joplinhumane.org/

And on a lighter note...and just because it's Father's or Fathers' Day (depending on how many dads you have), we couldn't stop ourselves from bringing you this video that we think is, quite literally, the funniest "dog video" we've ever seen. When we first viewed it a few weeks ago, courtesy of our friends at Life With Dogs, we forwarded and tweeted it endlessly. But just in case you missed it, we're bringing it to you here in honor of Father's Day. Can you believe how this "dog dad" is mercilessly teasing his faithful canine companion? C'mon Dad!

?A Happy and Healthy Father's Day to all you dads out there, including dog dads!
And I'm sure that all of you who have lost your fathers are remembering them with lots of love today, as we are here at Bocci's Beefs.
