Vieira posts second PBR win of season in Hartford-Rodeo ...

It came down to the final ride of the event on Sunday, and Fabiano Vieira delivered with 90 points on Who Dat (K-C Bucking Bulls/Spark-lin Acres) to win the Professional Bull Riders Hartford Invitational Presented by Cooper Tires at the XL Center.
It is the second win of the season for Vieira, who was the only rider to cover all five bulls at this Built Ford Tough Series event, finishing with 430.5 points. The win earned him $39,985 and brings his season earnings total to $207,145. Vieira, who is ranked sixth in the Built Ford Tough Series standings, earned his first career victory at Tulsa, Okla., in August.
Vieira was the leader heading into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, and was still in the lead with three riders remaining. Douglas Duncan then put the pressure on with the highest marked ride of the weekend, 90.75 points on Chocolate Thunder (Bird Bucking Bulls). The ride moved Duncan into the lead with 352.5 points. Duncan, who ended up second, won the championship round and also won the short round on Saturday.
2009 PBR World Champion Kody Lostroh finished third with 261.75 points, while L.J. Jenkins was fourth with 257.75 points, and 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee was fifth with 251.5 points.
World leader Silvano Alves, who tied for 21st, and second-ranked Valdiron de Oliveira, who tied for 26th, both went 1-for-3 on the weekend, as did third-ranked Robson Palermo, who was 12th, and fourth-ranked Austin Meier, who tied for 18th.
Sean Willingham won Round 4 with 87.75 points on Blonde Bomber (Currey Creek Bucking Bulls) en route to a 10th-place finish in the average. Justin Koon tied for second in the fourth round and had a career-best seventh-place finish in the average.
Hartford was the 28th of 29 stops on the 2011 BFTS schedule, which began at world-famous Madison Square Garden in January. The season concludes Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, and the crowning of the 2011 PBR World Champion. The World Finals are the richest bull riding event on the planet, with the winner receiving the World Championship PBR Buckle and a $1 million bonus.
The action from Hartford will be televised in HD on VERSUS at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday. Play-by-play broadcaster Craig Hummer will be joined by nine-time World Champion and PBR co-founder Ty Murray, who will provide color commentary, and Leah Garcia, who will be doing dirt-level interviews. Built Ford Tough Series telecasts are produced for the PBR by David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy? Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer and creative lead.
The PBR will make its final regular-season stop next weekend with the Cooper Tires Invitational at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Bull riding begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, and at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. Tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com or by telephone at (800) 745-3000.
